The first! greetings from Poland! 🙂
And second from india
bought a Leonberger, such an amazing dog.
you have some beautiful dogs….
The dog is called a Leonberger, not a Leon Burger! Burgers is what you get at the Mac. They are actually excellent guard dogs. They are big and gentle and use their size so there is no need for them to be aggressive. Yes they pin someone down on the spot and that is all that is needed. That person will not be able to get away untill you tell them it will be okay. They will never use more force then needed, but they will use more force if needed.
hmm, Essig kept no records but we do know that he placed little regard on the dam, rather everything on the sire and his most common use of females was the Southern German Shepherd, now extinct. You promote the Leonberger quite well. And you fail to mention that the Leonberger lives within a closed gene pool and that means every single Leo in the world is related to every other. The Leonberger badly needs an outcross programme in order to bolster not only genetic diversity but also to help maintain a sustainable population as still today the over use of popular sires ( those with the biggest show ring accolades that have NOTHING to do with health or longevity) continue to rapidly diminish the gene pool. So there is little point in trying to promote "responsible" breeders. Many of the most famous, influential and "well respected" breeders around the world ended up contributing to the puppy farms and the loss of genetic diversity.
Interesting viewing. Nice looking dogs. We're on numbers 4 & 5 (a 7 year old and a 1 year old). I appreciate that you say they're not for everyone. Thank you for the video!
😄 They're terrible at protecting anything.
We also have a Leonberger dog, named Leo. He is 5 years old and we loves him so much.
Leos are such handsome cute dogs.
Greatings from🇩🇪
You can Our Leo see on my channel.
Size isn't to bad as they normally try to get into the smallest place or somewhere in the way like in front of the oven 🙈 our girl lived to just past her 11th birthday to cancer but only joint issue she had was arthritis in 1 elbow from a injury when she was 3 hips were OK though
Exquisite!
I wish you rainbows.
nice video. thanks.
I have a 9 year old female. She is a great companion. She has been healthy. Good breeders have been meticulous to breed out faults, like hip dysphasia, and test for eye issues, etc. She is always by my side. I live in the south USA and keep her inside during summers. She sheds all year long and blows her coat twice a year. I’ve been told that those who live in colder areas, don’t shed constantly. She is everyones friend. She has been great with my young grand children, gets between & seperates them when they are fighting. She swims with the kids. Her personality is like a Golden Retriever. Fur balls are part of life.
I've dreamt of having a leonbuger for so so long! They are just gorgeous 😍
I´d agree with everything but one and that´s about being a guard dog. A potential intruder may doesn´t know that a leonberger is not dangerous, but even if, they´re still very loud and annoying, attracting unwanted attention.
If they don´t know what a leo is or they can´t see the dog because he´s inside, everything they know is that there´s a very big, loud dog on that property, which scares most burglers off.
