    In this video I go over the American staffordshire terrier breeds background history. The Amstaff is often confused for the American pitbull terrier because they were the same dog at one point in time, but they evolved into their own separate breed. The American staffordshire terrier is also not to be confused with the Staffordshire bull terrier. These dog are great dogs with good temperaments with people and can be a great dog for families.

      I wish you could see my American Staffordshire Terrier/ American Bulldog mix. He is absolutely beautiful, the most loving boy, and is every bit of what you describe as a Staffordshire terrier. He is he is also most definitely American bulldog as well. My boy though isn’t hyper and doesn’t require to be exercised as much as what is depicted for both breeds. He loves all people, and all dogs, he’s not aggressive at all, even when small dogs and large dogs alike are at the end of their leashes trying to get at him.

      Its crazy these dogs where popular for dog fighting they're so gentle and so kind I could never imagine them hurting a fly.

      I own an amstaff terrier he is 7 months old and is one of the best dogs I’ve ever had. He is very active so frequent trips to the dog parks, hiking and long walks are a must for him! He’s a bit stubborn at times but very trainable. The coolest thing about him is he’s changed a lot of people’s opinions about the breed and how sweet they can be!

      Fun fact, if you blood test a classic or even some xl “bullies” they come up as amstaffs. Try it

      Amstaff, best dog out there. You pronounce Staffordshire emphasizing the "I" sounds funny. Great video though.

      Great video! Thanks for posting it. As an AmStaff owner we need more videos like this one to help educate an ignorant and misinformed general public that attributes characteristics to this breed which are the exact opposite of the actual dog. AmStaff = GREAT with kids, kind, loving, loyal and not at all overly aggressive. Overall, more suited to being a family pet than the much beloved Labrador retriever. Thanks again.

      Does anyone know why it’s discouraged for them to be more than 80% white ?? I’ve heard this a few times before through other sources but I just want to know why lol I have an amstaff puppy who’s all white& I love it !!

      The 2nd most common misconception about ast is that they are guard dog . They are NOT . They have zero agressivity towards people and they are very quiet . So if someone get one for this purpose , he will be disapointed .

      Amstaff is love, they are very well behaved easy to train and perfect guard 💂‍♀️ people compare them with APBT and take them for ill tempered breed but trust me this breed is really friendly. It has been more then five years Bella has been with me and she has always been such a darling
