We tried out a new hiking leash on Mt. Baldy yesterday, the @ruffwear roamer leash. We got the one that can stretch from 7 to 11 feet and can be hand held or tied around the waist. I felt a little weird about having it around my waist at first but it was actually pretty awesome to have both hands leash free – one for my hiking stick and the other for my camera – instead of juggling all three like on our last summit. In a perfect world, the leash would be a little lighter and thinner (it’s 1″) to better suit smaller dogs, but otherwise it definitely made the hiking experience more enjoyable.
