Our “new” house is almost 100 years old and the longest standing original building on our street. As in the folks who first lived here stationed their horse and carriage where we currently park our Outback. The neighbors across the street said there used to be a well in the backyard. Before us, it was owned by a family who used it as an investment property and so that their kid could attend school in our district. There have been small glimpses that someone loved the house at one point but that was likely a very very veeery long time ago. We joke that we moved from a house with good bones to one with osteoporosis. But it’s cute in a if-you-squint-really-hard kind of way. (Photo is from Hoku’s first time in the new place. He’s smiling but inside he’s already plotting his Homeward Bound incredible journey back to LA.)
