Toy poodles were first bred in the 20th century. They are fun comical pets that love to perform and do tricks, and are often used as a circus dog because of this ability. They are always willing to please their owner. Toy Poodles are also suited to apartment life as long as they receive sufficient exercise. Lack of exercise and stimulation can lead to them becoming highly strung and anxious. The Toy Poodle is also a great watchdog since it is so alert.

The Miniature Schnauzer originates from Germany in the mid-to-late 19th century.
Miniature Schnauzers are recognized in four colors internationally, solid black, black and silver, salt and pepper, and white.

The Lhasa Apso originated in Tibet. This small breed was used as a sentinel dog indoors while the larger Tibetan Mastiff remained outside. Lhasa Apsos need early socialization with people and pets. Although they can be jealous of other animals, they can live peacefully with other pets.

The Havanese is the National dog of Cuba and its only native breed.
Havanese are acceptable in all coat colors and patterns

The Shih Tzu is an Asian toy dog breed originating from Tibet. They are highly independent dogs, and are able to adapt well in different situations. Due to their independent nature, they are not considered the most obedient breed

The Bichon Frise is often depicted as a French dog. Although the Bichon breed type are originally Spanish, used as sailing dogs. The French developed them into a gentle lap-dog variety.

The Basenji is a breed of hunting dog. It was bred from stock that originated in central Africa.
Basenjis are athletic dogs, and deceptively powerful for their size. They have a graceful, confident gait like a trotting horse.

This breed was named after its city of origin, Brussels, Belgium. The Griffon comes in two coat variants, wiry/rough and smooth coat. Their hair can be red, black and tan, or black and reddish in color. The short hair Griffon requires little grooming, while the wiry/rough coat Griffon requires weekly grooming attention

It is believed that the Scottish Terrier’s forefathers originated from the Blackmount region of Perthshire and the Moor of Rannoch. Their color can range from black, greyish-black, and even white.

The Maltese is a very lively, easygoing, and fearless character. Since they are highly intelligent, they are easily trained, and respond well to positive reinforcements, such as food reward.
The maltese is very active but still suited to apartment living as he doesn’t need much outdoor exercise, although walks are always appreciated.
