  1. In my research for an ACD, I found this organization. I want to add ACDCA.org under Code of Ethics for a list of responsible breeders.

Yes, the puppies these breeders sell cost more, but as my grandma use to say, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

Today breeders are passing down genetic diseases instead of breeding them out. ACDCA breeders' goals are to produce genetically healthy puppies from DNA tested ACD. Neurologists test puppies hearing out of both ears. When you buy a puppy from these breeders, they will provide you with these certificates.

I have owned dogs before this technology was available. It is heart breaking to love your dog and all of a sudden they become sick and die. ACD can suffer deafness in one or both ears. Hip and knee problems. 2 form of blindness … one extremely painfull requiring eyeball removal. There are others that are tested for too.

If you have a dog that has not been tested, you can test your dog's DNA to see if it is a carrier or has both gene markers meaning likely to suffer from it. If you look also at the cost of surgeries, medications, and heart ache, the cost of a puppy from a responsible breeder is worth it. ALWAYS VERIFY WITH DNA LAB PAPERS OF TEST RESULTS ARE LEGIT. Sadly there are unscrupulous breeders faking these documents.

  2. I purchase my dog from kennels Above heaven. Cadillac Michigan, My blue healer now is 2 years old. I really would like to have a litter I have a female. Thanks

  3. found our heeler on craigslist. she was the pick of the litter, but the person backed out at the last moment, and we saw her, contacted the owner, and had her in our home in less than 12 hours! best little raptor ever

  4. I live in Northern Utah and it's a large farm area here so Heelers are very easy to come by here. I just went on my local classified and found a breeder who had pups on April 1st. I'm getting a blue female and she'll be ready May 29th. I'm so excited! Love Rocket's ears. 🥰

  5. I just found your channel about 2 weeks ago and I love it! My husband and I are new to the ACD community but we found our heeled on the AKC Marketplace. She’s was 2 weeks old when I saw the breeder. We get to pick her up on Aug. 20th. We live on a little over 1 acre of land and it’s fenced so she will have plenty of room to play and run and next Spring we will be adding Chickens so she will have a job to do.. Thanks for all of the great info and the recommendations.
