Short Smooth Fox Terrier description:
The Smooth Fox Terrier is muscular and compact breed, with short body, but long face and ears that are folded forwards. The height is around 14 or 15 inches and average weight between 15-19 pounds. The females are naturally little bit smaller than males.
If you are an active person, i can guarantee you that you will never be bored with a Smooth Fox Terrier. They are little bit mischevious, very playful, confident and curious and they are always ready for any action. They are the perfect partners in crime. They are always very loyal and they will want to be around you all the time.

My greyhound recently passed away which was really awful to go through but at least on the bright side now I am getting a new puppy more specifically a smooth fox terrier since I’ve only put my name down for one and the dog isn’t due to be born until September I also have plenty of time to do research and make preparations around the house for an optimal living space for our puppy.
I have one named Lacy and she is female and doesn't really bark but yes when she does it is high pitched and she is very playful, we had this gate at my gmas house and she got through and was on the run we've had her for 6 years and she still is active
Ours lived until he was 17, though he was definitely knackered by then.

With some training you can keep him without leash in unfenced and new areas. I give him liberty as much as i can.

Smooth FoxTerriers are absolutely beautiful dogs. They are very active, loyal, fun-loving family dogs.
We have bred Daschunds and Airedales, but when our son's Mini Fox Terrier died, the family settled for a couple of female Smooth Fox Terriers, Topsy and Turbo.
We really didn't know just how athletic they can be. Topsy arrived at Puppy School, walking in on her hind legs……she would pirouette on her hind legs for treats.
Both of them have proven to be gorgeous pets, but they are so quick and intelligent, that they need very close supervision for their own safety.

I've had a larger smooth for 12 years. His characteristics are all the same as the smooth. I believe he was cross bred with some other breed which gives him his size and thick beard in winter. If you or anyone has a suggestion, please reply. Knee high shoulder. All white with s.all brown spots like a Russell. Has minute black around his prim ears. He's a dirt digger and and a ground sniffer as well as a varmint getter!

Having bred and shown them for over 35 years I can say they have so much character and are loyal companions. However if you give them an inch they will take a mile and look at you as if to say “Well what did you expect me to do”
