Are These the CUTEST Cat Breeds EVER?! #catbreeds #cutecat #cats

  1. Hi… I love your relaxing cat videos… I have a half-Maine Coon cat. He's a big sweet boy. Maine is pronounced like the mane of a lion… The I is silent.

  2. You may think that Scottish Fold and Persian cats are cute but both have many health problems due to their breed.

Haircoat disorders, dental disease, overgrown nails and eye discharge are the most common conditions diagnosed in the Persian cat. Many of these health issues may be related to the long coat and flat face that is characteristic of the Persian breed.

All Scottish Fold cats suffer from variable degrees of painful degenerative joint disease, which can result in fusing of the tail, tarsi (ankles) and stifles (knees). This is apparent clinically as a reluctance to move, and abnormal posture and gait, lameness and short misshapen limbs.

If you are thinking about getting a purebred cat please avoid these two and Munchkins. Munchkin cats are known to be at a higher risk (than other feline breeds) for severe osteoarthritis because the shorter limbs affect their activity levels and behavior. Diagnosis of osteoarthritis and the assessment of its severity for a cat may require radiography. I’m not saying that you should get rid of any of these breeds if you have them, only that if people stop wanting these breeds then the cats won’t have to live with painful conditions.

There are many great cats and kittens out there in shelters and rescues that would love to have a furever home and are just as cute, if not cuter than purebred cats.
