This is how to bathe a Doberman the RIGHT way! Believe it or not, there’s a technique for giving a Doberman a bath that’s much different than what you’d do with other dogs. This video will explain the best technique I’ve found for Dobermans that will also help prevent dry itchy skin, red bumps, and dandruff issues. This video is directly from an upcoming training course I’ve been working hard on Doberman ownership and even includes a Doberman bathing schedule! I’m releasing just this one lesson from the course to give you a sneak-peak into what I’ve been working so hard on lately! We’ll discuss what shampoo to use, water temperature, lathering your Doberman so you don’t irritate their skin, and brushing them afterward in a way that’s best for this breed.

  1. I've been a groomer and own my own business for 28 years. You are absolutely right about every single thing you talked about. Wish you could see the dog room we built in our home for our home. We actually got this property for our dogs and built around what we thought a good home to have big dogs needed to be. Can you say dobe crazy? LOL The only thing I do differently than you is I don't apply shampoo directly to skin. I use a bath cloth put shampoo on it and get bubbles going there then just rub in direction of coat. I also make sure to get the underarms and each foot. Rinsing the feet as I finish getting them lathered up so they don't slip. I never apply any shampoo to face or ears. Only the wet cloth before actual bath avoiding the inner ears and eyes, again following coat growth. I don't want eyes or ears to have any water get in them. I think it is wonderful you are sharing this info with anyone who hasn't given a proper bath. So many groomers don't even realize how different dobes are from other breeds. Kudos for job well done!!!

  2. Thank you for the help. Our fawn doberman has horrible skin, the poor baby. So maybe if I use some of your techniques on top of her medicated shampoo and medicine it will help her feel better. Until we can get her back into the dermatologist

  3. Hi. I searched for a bit on "brushing dogs teeth". Can you do a video on that? Like if you're for/against it + why….and if you're "for" then a demonstration? Hope to hear from you, tnx

  4. Do you have any specific video on how you posted your Doberman's ears? In a couple videos they look fully taped, and then a lot after look like you did a minimalist more open posting. I checked your webpage but didn't see anything.

  5. I've had dobermans for my whole 55 years. I've never know them to be so sensitive and delicate. I've never been so gentle bathing my dobies and they've never had a problem. Plus, my dobies love their baths.

  6. I have a (blue) named Bella, and she is missing s patch of hair on her back. I warm the towels
in the dryer first. She'll come back a 2nd time to get dried off……

  7. A dog that likes to stay clean? I've never heard of such a thing! 😃 I want one even more now. 🙂

  8. Love the videos. Only thing I do differently is that I wash from the neck down first and do the head last with a clean microfibre cloth. That way my girl doesn't shake and get me as wet as her!

  9. My Doberman hated cold and wet weather. He sat down and looked at me: "please let us return home". I said "make your big job and we will return". And so he hurried up and we returned. 🙂

  10. Correct. Doberman's are very clean and can be wiped down intermittently. Their skin is sensitive, very sleek coats, shampoo at a minimum for the best lubrication of the coat. They love the attention.

  11. Do you express his anal glands or do you take him to a professional to get that? Also could you use a baby brush instead of microfiber towel

  12. please do a video on the natural human foods a doberman can eat and thing dobermans should be eating thank you love the info

  13. Man he is so calm, my dober is Hyper and doesn't sit still with nails or shower. (I don't have a tub) next time Bathing outside for sure.
But it's difficult because mine is 11 months old and has so much testosterone running through him. He got over excited when I walked my family and him to our park around other people and he started jumping on me a lot trying to play rough. It was the first time he ever did that. Any advice for me?

  14. That glance he is giving you while being rinsed, reminds me so much of my female Doberman mix. That is exactly the look I get, when we want to go for a walk and she realises that it is raining cats and dogs. I'm sorry Darling, I would love to make it stop raining, but I can't and we really need to go for a walk.

  15. I have a dobie and a pitbull, I use a body butter conditioner after bath. It is very gentle, and it keeps his skin in great shape and my pibble who tends to get hot spots. I also use MicroTek shampoo on both. I am subscribing for your help training my baby velociraptor who is 16 weeks.
