  1. I posted my Dobermans ears when he was 11 weeks and when he was maybe 9 months both stood up and out of no where the 1 ear went down and it’s been hard to get that 1 ear up he’s 1 year and 5 months still trying

  2. Help my dog been home 72 hours from surgery and his ears are super raw . I am stresssed cause it looks like it will never heal. The vet says put Neosporin every 12 hours for 10 days and cover with sock and others say don’t do that . I’m so confusedddddd

  3. This is a great video and easy to do. But I found it very difficult to remove the paper tape the next day after he tangled one up and I needed to do it over.

  4. I would like to add my 2 cents. We use the same technique as far as the dowels. When we just posted the ears on our 9 week old, the base on the inside of the ear got a little irritated due to the tape being sticky near the cotton ball. We pulled the post and did the same thing but we didnt flip the tape till about 2 inches higher. Also we tape from the top downwards after you form the post like this woman did. We do one piece at the top to anchor it and then tape down. This is our 2nd doberman and this is by far the best method. Also, when taping them, dont pull tight, just wrap and compress the tape. You do pull the ear tight to the top when you anchor that first little tape at the top. When you go to pull the tape job and start a new, make sure to use goo gone or something similar on the end of a q-tip to release the ear from the sticky tape. Also, almost forgot, use baby powder on the outside of the ear before taping down the ear, the inside skin should be clean of any powder so it sticks to the reversed tape on the dowel. see this video….so helpful https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Onr36kFtzo8&t=337s

  5. I was totally way too intimidated to do this on my own until this video. I had been paying $18 a week for the vet to do it. Now I can confidently do it on my own, just tried it myself and it’s working out great. Thanks for the great video

  6. Fantastic, thank you! I have had 2 Dobes with cropped/posted ears and never once had to deal with any ear infections. The effort is worth it.

  7. Im using backer rod just giving myself a refresher. I think I have done 20 dobies or more over the years. I have not done it over 13 years however getting a new puppy tuesday i dont see sense in covering the entire ear however only at top and bottom with the bridge. Depends on the longer ear or not..
