A new canine has taken home the title of “World’s Ugliest Dog,” having triumphed in the yearly competition to promote animal adoption.

Scooter, a Chinese Crested dog who is seven years old, won the prize on Friday at the Sonoma-Marin Fair in Petaluma, California, after winning over the judges with his distinctive appearance.

According to The New York Times, the puppy’s tongue usually hangs loose from his mouth and he utilizes a wheel cart to travel great distances due to the fact that his back legs were born with the opposite orientation.

Scooter also has a distinctive hairdo, and during the yearly competition, white wispy hair grows from his face and his tail, impressing the judges.

“He was kind in the cutest way possible,”
