Here are three facts about female cats.

#1 – Female Cats Live Longer Than Males
On average, female cats live one to two years longer than male cats. A scientific explanation for this is not currently known. However, spaying your cats may be a potential contributing factor. This can help them avoid getting some deadly illnesses and diseases.

#2 – Nearly All Tortoiseshell and Calico Cats Are Female
The X chromosome determines a cat’s color pattern, and these distinctive patterns require two X chromosomes, so any males with these patterns have an extra X chromosome. Only one in every 3,000 of these stunning cats with their distinctive patterns is male.

#3 – Female Cats Can Become Pregnant As Early As 4 Months Old
That’s right, at only four months, they are biologically prepared to become mothers. We all adore those tiny, cuddly kittens, but if you are not prepared for the responsibility, spay your female cat at or before the age of four months.
