My three adult dogs knew how the pack works. I'd come home from the hospital and let them smell the gown I wore. When it was time for my wife and baby to come home … we put the baby on the floor and let the dogs have a good sniff and that was that. Even before we thought of kids we desensitized the dogs to having thier eyes,ears,tales touched and pulled. So … the dogs knew I was the alpha and my wife the beta … they knew their place. My dogs may chase a rabbit, squirrel, bird outside, but, if we brought one in the house they knew it belonged.
