  1. Our Leonberger is stubborn. If I say "come" she looks at me with an expression telling me I hear you but I don't care. But I still love her!

  2. Our Leonberger was the smartest and most affectionate dog ever. He was a family member for ten years, and we still honor his memory. He had the soul of a poet.

  3. They remind me of St. Bernards and German Shepherds, Newfy faces. I looked up the breed because of the dog walker who was just killed walking 8 dogs. It almost seems like something happened to have such a thing happen. I think 2 dogs is enough to walk together but they are saying 4-6 max. Leashes get tangled and stuff, ya know.

  4. Any dog over 40 lbs is POTENTIALLY dangerous, but no dog breed can be generalized as dangerous, because dogs only behave the way HUMANS REAR AND/OR RAISE THEM TO BEHAVE. Remember, dogs are not a product of nature, wolves are. Dogs are a product of man, as such they do not vehave solely according to instinct, they behave according to their masters will. Each dog us an individual, this is why an individual dog may be considered dangerous, but a DOG BREED CAN NOT BE GENERALIZED AS DANGEROUS. A dog is only dangerous if the human who reared it made it that way…

  5. Beautiful dogs…my neighbor has one…such a sweetheart…her and my German Shepherd are best freinds.

  6. My wife and my son are also Leonbergers! Born in Leonberg, where the dog breed comes from. Rottweil is not far from us either. Known worldwide for the dog breed Rottweiler!

  7. I'd say they are more like an enlarged golden retriever .
I dont like how these dogs here are highly strung jumping up at humans that extremely disrespectful and should never be allowed

  8. I have a leonberg and let me just say he is the friendlyist most family dog I've ever had he great with baby's and he scared of Chihuahuas

  9. my dogs stubbern but i dont think of stubbern as a not trainable shes is smart as hell knows what i want just doesnt feel like doing it.
my leonberger for sure is part newfie… her dad was leonberger her mom was newfie now i think i got a clifford 🙂
