An obvious question: if corgis were selected as herding dogs, why did the breeders select a breed with such short legs? It's a lot of effort for them to run behind whatever animals they're herding. The border collie, on the other hand…

Why are they bred for short legs?
This will be why they nip the heels of pple who r running. Thats what herding dogs do, its how they control the cows, sheep whatever they r herding. It doesnt break the skin but it is a wee nip.
