  1. Uhh.. I don't know why there is so many clips urging people to compare ACDs and GS.
I never saw a comparison point.

  2. I have a Heeler/Catahoula mix she is amazing, good with kids. Leary with adults she doesn't know, but give her 10 to 15 minutes and you'll be her new best friend.

  3. I have both a Blue Heeler and German Shepherd and I can say our heeler is more intelligent than our shepherd and is more protective. But we love em both.

  4. I have a 3 year old male Blue heeler and he hunts upland birds and rabbits . He retrieves them also . He works cows also but prefers hunting !

  5. I have had both dogs and found the blue Heeler was so much easier to train. But they need exercise and things to do. They do have a stubborn streak. I could never stop him from barking at visitors coming to our house are the yard. We have a lot of young grandchildren 13 and he was always so good with them all. But he was exposed to the kids at 10 weeks and they love dogs giving him tons of attention. He liked that. But he would so protect them in the walled back yard when they played. His herding instincts took over when they either went to open the gates or climb the wall. He was awesome. Our shepherds were never as good with kids or staying at home. Our male shepherd would jump the wall 6’ and once I electrified the top he would go through it and cry but that never stopped him. We were on then acres and he killed a goat and brought it over a wall. He then jumped the wall and never came home. So I am a blue man.

  6. Blueheeler the "once in a lifetime" bestest dog ever! Happiest when "herding" us all in one room. Pokes the back of your knee to move you. Over the top smart, quick study very obedient. Does not like to share people with other dogs. They own you and love u 4ever!

  7. I am a HEELER ADDICT! I have 2 working heelers on our 🐐 ranch; 5 year old brother & sister. Then I do have the sisters 3 year old daughter specifically to breed. We have even done genetic testing on all 3 as well as the dames mate. Giving an average of 97% Catahoula.

  8. If you can't decide which is best, I advise getting both. I have a blue heeler mix and a German shepherd. To be honest, the similarities outweigh their differences. Both are high energy, super intelligent animals that need training and exercise. Both are very sociable and loyal with animals and people in their tribe, but protective of outsiders. Both chew and dig when they get bored. As highly intelligent animals, they get bored quickly if they don't have enough mental stimulation. My two dogs are the best of buds.

  9. Fun fact the German Shepherd was actually the very first seeing eye dog in the United States and the very first guide dog training school was the seeing eye😅

  10. I have had ACD BH for the last 30 years and live in suburbs. Best most loyal, affectionate, guard sog to have. O yeah, a bored cattle dog is a destructive cattle dog 😂

  11. I grew up with many dogs at this point I own a rott, heeler, aussie mix, mountain cur, mountain cur rot mix, and border collie… aussie mix is our smartest to date at 10 weeks knows commands and doesnt let dad out of her sight.. Know your dog and your and the dogs limits all my dogs are healthy and very well adapted

  12. Had both. My current is a Blue Heeler. She needed very little discipline or training. She seemed to learn in seconds. Often learning on her own. She is Velcro to me. Loyal like nothing else. And just seems to know when to be protective and when to back off with nothing more than my behavior. She’s intuitive to the point of scary. We lover her beyond words! It only took a little socialization to be good around kids and other dogs. The girl just wants to have fun!

  13. when we were looking to get a companion for our miniature schnauzer we looked at shepherds and then found a heeler. we never looked back and bb(the schnauz) now has a best friend! healers are wonderful dogs
    very independent very smart
very loving wouldn't want anything else

  14. I have a blue heeler, and its the best dog i have ever had! She just requieres a lot of exercise, but if you like bikes, especially mountain biking, its the best dog for you.

  15. I have 3 heelers 😂 I think it’s safe to say which one I like more. I love my dogs but yes they are very stubborn. I also have kids and they do become impatient with them they have their own space where they can escape to. They are kennel trained and love it. They do require a lot of exercise and mental stimulation.

  16. They’re both great dogs. I had a German Shepherd. She was awesome. She lived be 13 years old and I have a blue healer. She’s awesome to hear both great dogs I believe that the owner will create a wonderful dog by giving it so much attention and teaching them things, and keeping them active and always being there with them, that’s just my opinion. Thank you for letting me comment on this channel and I really enjoyed the video. Thank you again.

  17. I Love German Shepherds the most but we have a German Shepherd mixed with a Blue Healer and we would Not trade her for anything! She is 85% German Shepherd and 15% Blue Healer! We call her our little dingo dog and she is absolutely amazing! She is the dominate one being 5 yrs. old to our much bigger 12 month old 100% German Shepherd! Our little dingo dog is quite the handful being very possesive over what she considers hers! What ever you do don't aggrivate her in any way shape or form! Most especially do Not touch her favorite toys, sticks, and even fire wood logs that she claims as her own! LOL
We Love Her and know better than to try and take something away from her that she holds dear. She will bite you! Lol
She is one of the Best and Most Intellegent dogs we have ever owned as well as one of the most beautiful dogs ever!

  18. Raised four German Shepards through the years along with growing kids and never had a bad experience because they were well trained and supervised. Love the breed! Had two Heelers and also great dogs. Training and supervising very important with owning any breed.

  19. I had a blueheeler/Dingo for 14 years
Wonderful dog. Intelligent, faithful, a clown and energetic. I now have a heeler/shepherd. Also a wonderful dog. Opposite personality from the Dingo. Very loving, non aggressive, smart, excellent companion dog. Both dogs have a little bit of personality of each of the breeds. Both are females. I would not have any dog that didn't have thier personalities.
