The Manx cat might look like your average tabby or even a calico from the front, but take a look from the back, and you’ll see they’re one of the most unique cat breeds of all. Across the globe, there are many people that have a special place in their heart for these cats with missing tails.
That interesting physical feature automatically attracts curiosity, but it’s the Manx cat’s friendly personality that makes people truly fall in love with them. These cats are bonded with their people, and some even follow their humans around the way that a dog would.

  1. I had 3 manxes. All were lovebugs and great mousers. And let me tell you – they are great guard dogs. They are sociable, but protective of thier people. One of mine literally jumped on the back of a strange dog in my yard when I was was kid and drove it away from me and my sibs. Quiet and sweet, I would recommend this breed to ANYONE. Btw, if you want a longer haired varient of the Manx, get a cymric!

  2. I have 2 Manx cats and they are just like dogs! They are so loving. One is named slick because he was found covered in oil and burned by some piece of trash! Anyway, we call him slick Jonas because he gets so jealous when I spend time with my wife. ❤️✌️ both are rumpies

Edit: my Manxs is a tuxedo cat that wasn’t mentioned in this video

  3. I was told years ago by a vet that there is no PURE bred Manx as they will always have kittens with tails in a litter even though both parents had no tail. Genetically it will always have a gene that produces a tail in some. Can you confirm that?

  4. I rescued a manx baby about 8 or 9 months ago. She has a beautiful blueish looking coat. She is absolutely part dog. She follows me around everywhere I go, she plays fetch every day. She hops around like a bunny rabbit too she never jumps lol but her balance is quite lacking. I have to set up stuff around the house so she can hop onto higher ledges. She is afraid of jumping too high unless it's to destroy my door frames.

  5. did you know that my Mum had 3 kttins one had a tail one had no butholw and one with no tail 2 die now We have Wags the one with no taiI

  6. We have a manx cat all black in color he is 21 years old now and still going he sleeps a lot but loves to sleep on our laps, he is very smart also, he was always good with the grand kids he is older then our oldest grand daughter, who is also 21 years old, it's going totough whenthe guy passes on.

  7. I've got a black Stumpie called Simba!
He doesn't really like being near people and can be skittish but he definitely likes pets if you can get him to not run away lmao
His butt definitely looks like a rabbits his nickname is "bunny butt" 😂
He can be a real pain in the ass
But I still love him ♡

  8. I love my manx!! I should’ve done my research before getting her because I really didn’t count on doing this much physical activity just to keep her sane 😭 But I love her

  9. I had an orange tabby rumpy riser Manx. Very affectionate. He would rub up on me and meow for pets just about any time I was around.
On many occasions I would sit there and do nothing but pet him for an hour or more.

  10. So many people assume all cats without tails are Manx. Most of the ‘Manx’ cats up for adoption are actually Japanese bobtails. These 2 breeds are completely opposite in nature! We lost our beloved Manx boy in 2020, think he caught covid from us 🥺 We searched for a Manx to adopt & hubby came home with a Japanese bobtail kitten. He was a lil maniac that refuses to cuddle or sit still. We still love him! But we still keep an eye out for a manx rescue we can adopt & get cuddles from 😆

  11. My rumpy riser Bobby (very original I Know🙄) is a tiny little stripped menace, it has taken me almost a decade to get that cat to voluntarily seek me out for attention(he's my dad's cat), and now he terrorizes me for kisses and cuddles😹 he even flips the blankets up over my head in the middle of the night and then proceeds to fall asleep curled up on my face purring and vibrating up a storm! He's definitely a chatty little monster, and I love every spoiled little bit of him🥰✨💖
