My cute Shiba Inu needs her nails clipping! Expect Shiba screams, dramatic shiba barking and overreacting angry shibas in this shiba nail grooming reaction video.

We bought a dog grooming hammock (grooming sling) to minimise their dramatic reactions (ha!). Beau and Eevee are our brave volunteers. My cute shiba is SO funny with her dramatic responses and they have their own mini meltdowns. The way her squishy shiba cheeks get chonky rolls when she turns around makes me laugh every time!

In this video we use a dog grooming sling, a dog nail grinder instead of nail clippers, hang the dogs up on a coat rail and give them lots of treats in between shots to try our best to keep them happy!

We’ve spent 7 years trying to help eevee aclimatise to having her nails groomed with positive reinforcement but she STILL acts this dramatic 😅 Beau is a young shiba boy so he may still improve with time and positive reinforcement.

  1. It's a girl thing!!! We like getting our nails done… And Eevee is no different. It's not for Beau, and that's for sure!!! He's totally a boy! 😆

  2. Exercise them more and you won’t need to cut their nails, they will just wear out while walking.
My shiba’s nails have never gotten so long as the ones in the video.

If eventually they need a little trim, especially the ones on the back of the leg that don’t get worn out, have the vet or groomer do it. It’s different when it’s not the owner doing it, they are like children. A long walk before grooming is also good for them to burn some energy and be calmer.
