Cocker spaniel puppy, Willow, is out walking off the lead for the first time.
Over the last 3 and a half weeks we’ve been working on her basic obedience training in the house. Practicing on a daily basis her basics of sit, wait and recall. In that time we’ve also been working on building her engagement so that she look to us for everything.
When she sits, we reward her, when she check in with us we reward her, when she waits, when she wants attention, before the lead goes on. All the time working on her believing we are the most interesting and important thing in the world.
This is the result so far. A puppy who wants to be around you when off the lead and who is rewarded for doing so.
