Working with Sully on some of his puppy mouthiness and bite inhibition. It’s day one so I don’t expect it to be perfect but it’s always good to start training them proper mouthing and bite pressure right away.

My pup is already 6 months old half Cattle dog half German shepherd. Same mouthing problem. Using the same strategy. You’re doing great!
I've seen the thumb technique before, had a bad effect on my terrier pup. It always gets better though.
My girl unfortunately the tickle the tongue and press tongue didn't work … it just intensify. It was like she just couldn't help it. What saved my face after she would leap rapidly biting me when bending over to feed, "WAIT." She only could eat when I give the break command. If I used the LEAVE IT command, she would equate it to go after the cat or anything else after a minute wait.

Great video! I have been trying the “thumb in the mouth” to stop Kalina from biting my hand.. When you do that do you have your thumb on their tongue also? Keep the training videos coming. Right now we are working on nipping… She seems to want to bite everything she comes in contact with, even our hands and feet..
The velociraptor tries to bite my finger when I tell him no, I've taken to pinning him down (gently) until he calms down. He gets so wound up playing with our Boxer mix. He's already figured out the doggie door, though.
I started following you a month ago when we got a female blue heeler, she’ll be 4 months old in a few days. This is our first blue heeler. Ours is learning fast and is super smart, a bit too smart lol. Biting getting better with the humans but she’s still pushing it with our English shepherd and cat. Super jealous of them too. I do have a question how soon before they can be left out of the crate at night? This is definitely a full time job but I’m loving her soooo much!
We're going through what I hope is a phase with Gus (10.5 mo). He will be fine for a week and obedient for a puppy but suddenly he will snap, like a switch and attack repeatedly for 10 seconds or so. He got my wife's hand pretty bad and a week later tried getting me when I tried to clip his leash for a walk one night. We have scheduled a meeting w/ behavioral specialist and formal training starts in 2 weeks. He will also be getting neutered Friday. Velociraptor is an understatement sometimes!

Do you have any videos on what your schedule is like with Sully? We're struggling to figure out how much/how little to play and how to balance things since both my wife and I work full time jobs. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!
Im starting think my Arlo (6months old) is going to be really small compared to some heelers. It seems like the heelers with the brown are bigger overall.
When my pooch can't grasp a bite of me she makes this snappy/chomping noise. It's very scary lmao, you can really see the dingo in her.

I'm loving these Sully videos! My pup is 5mo and still has the urge to bite when we rub his tummy (?!). We don't let him bite us so he'll snap at the air or even bite his own leg! It's hilarious but we usually give him a chew toy now before a rub, so he doesn't get all worked up.
The girls are so well behaved around him 🥰
My male blue healer is now 8 months old. Born deaf. It's been a little rough getting across the meaning of no. I was grateful when he lost his baby teeth. Him lunging in my face one time I got a good scratch across the nose. Very stubborn about the mouthing even with that technique to discourage the biting. The biting dropped off quite a bit this last month. I have happily spent the last 5 months with him being my sole focus in getting him through his first year. No possibilities in doing my hobbies if you don't watch him and keep him occupied he can be very naughty. I can say I have never had such a smart dog. Thanks for the reviews of the Jolly Ball toys. The 8 inch one with the handle is his all time favorite.

Our cattle dog, Ringo, is one yr old now and that mouthing of the arm is no joke! I have scars! He is seriously the smartest dog we have ever had and understands everything we tell him. Amazing breed!
The stop playing thing works, especially with fetch. Madison would bite my hand whenever I reached for the ball, so I simply wouldn't pick it up. It was effective and now we're 95% successful with it. I also move my hand slow so she doesn't think it's prey. I try to provide every single chewing texture so she doesn't have to nibble on me to get her fix and it seems to do most of the work for me (wood, leather, rope, fuzz, cloth, etc). We're still working on her biting my sleeves sometimes. I wear a lot of long sleeves and she tends to think it's fair game. SUPER annoying and I'm hoping she doesn't put a hole in one of my favorite shirts. D:

Everything this lady says about heelers applies to almost any other breed. All puppies bite because of teething. All dogs follow you around everywhere. All breeds do the same shit. I’ve had heelers since 2011, and along with other breeds and they all have the same tendencies 🤦♂️
