BEARDED DRAGONS are SCARED of birds… ESPECIALLY Blue Jays! (my Beardie runs away!)
In the wild, a tasty lizard is the perfect snack for most large BIRDS, especially a hawk!!
They are a natural predator of wild Bearded Dragon lizards, native to Australia!
Although we don’t have Beardies here in the US, or anywhere in North America, we have many other types of indigenous lizard species that ARE regularly taken by birds.
Here in Kansas, 3-lined Blue Tailed Skink lizards are eaten by our large, native Blue-Jay birds. Although not visible in this video clip, there IS a large Blue-Jay screaming & calling overhead…. if you use your imagination, you can actually HEAR the bird call: *”JAY JAY”* at the beginning! This actually startles Xavier, my Beardie, & he breaks into a sprint & BOLTS!
NOT COOL!

Use your imagination, & you can actually HEAR the Blue-Jay bird scream its famous call: ”JAY JAY” at the beginning!!
NOTE: THIS tenacious bird is also the origin of the “Jay” part in the “Jayhawk” mascot of my Alma Mater, University of Kansas. The OTHER, of course, is the stoic Praire Hawk (Red-Tailed Hawk) of Kansas.
Regardless, birds are natural predators of most lizards in the wild, & Xavier here losses his mind & BOLTS like the wind!!🐉🦎💚
