The Basenji dog breed’s characteristics are as follows:
Activity. Basenjis are energetic dogs who need an hour or two of exercise per day. It’s critical to always keep this breed on a leash. If they are not constantly regulated, their hunting and independent nature will encourage them to go out and chase animals. You can reduce their prey drives with proper socialization and behavior training so that they don’t yank on the leash every time they see a small animal. Schedule time for hugging and grooming as well.
Character. These dogs make great companions for the family who is always one step ahead of them. They are adaptable to apartment living and will appeal to even unskilled pet parents. Just make sure you’re getting enough exercise to keep up with their high activity levels. When it comes to living with cats, as long as they are properly trained from the beginning, they can get along perfectly.
